Former SCJ student named bishop

Le Vatican a annoncé ce matin que Claude Hamelin a été nommé évêque auxiliaire à Saint-Jean Longueuil. Claude est un ancien étudiant de l’ex-province canadienne-française, au début des années ’70, à Montréal. Ordonné prêtre en 1977 au diocèse de Saint-Jean, il était jusqu’ici vicaire général de Saint-Jean Longueuil.

The Vatican announced this morning that Claude Hamelin was named as auxiliary bishop for the diocese of Saint-Jean Longueuil. In the early ‘70s, Claude was a student with the former French-Canadian Province, in Montreal. Ordained a priest in 1977 for the diocese of Saint-Jean, he is now vicar general of the diocese of Saint-Jean Longueuil.
