The Regional community gathered – as it has in previous years –  at Dehon House in Ottawa for the celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart. In order to allow the feast to be celebrated in the parishes, it was decided that the Region would meet on Wednesday and Thursday and allow the members to get back to their ministries for Friday.

On Wednesday the Region gathered for a period of adoration during which John van den Hengel, the Regional Superior, gave a presentation on “Dehon and Mercy” particularly in view of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. John indicated how Dehon spoke of mercy in his writings, indicating that mercy occurs 1048  times in the writings, mainly his meditations.
